Simply Salted Caramel
Heres a quick little recipe to either use as a topping for a dessert or within a recipe. You can adjust the amount of cream depending on its use. For example, in my filled Chocolate Cupcakes (link here lol) , I used 1/3 of the Cream to ensure that it'll set quite thick.
Anyways, the recipe goes as follows;
Simply Salted Caramel
This recipe makes roughly 300ml
300ml Double Cream
170g Light Brown Sugar
50g Butter
1-2tsp Sea Salt/Maldron
Melt down the the butter and sugar in a small saucepan on medium heat until melted and combined.
Stir in Cream and while stirring, continue to heat for a few minutes until slightly darker and golden brown in colour.
Add in the salt to taste. (Obviously let it cool slightly before tasting it)
Let cool as it helps thicken!
